Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls
These apple-filled cinnamon rolls are a must-try! Using store-bought cinnamon rolls makes it super simple. Just add a delightful Granny Smith apple filling for that perfect autumn flavor. To elevate these rolls even more, top them with a crumble topping and a drizzle of icing. The combination is heavenly and will fill your home with the warm scents of fall.

Apple filling
2Granny Smith apples
peeled and diced small
2 tablespoonsunsalted butter
⅓ cuplight brown sugar
¼ cupgranulated sugar
1 teaspooncinnamon
⅛ teaspoonsalt
1 tablespooncorn starch
for the corn starch slurry
2 tablespoonswater
cold, for the corn starch slurry
1 teaspoonvanilla extract
Crumble Topping
Instructions
Step 1
1. preheat the oven to 350° F.
Step 2
2. Remove cinnamon rolls from tube and Place cinnamon rolls on a baking tray (Save the icing) Set the cinnamon rolls aside while you prepare the filling.
Step 3
3. Wash, Peel and dice the apples small. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet on medium heat. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, regular sugar, cinnamon, salt and stir until the sugars have dissolved. Let the apples cook for 4-5 minutes.

4. Make a corn starch slurry by whisking together corn starch and water. Pour the mixture over the apples and stir. Let cook for a minute until it thickens up. Turn the heat off and add in the vanilla extract and stir again.

5. Make the crumble topping by combining the melted butter, flour and sugar together.
Step 6
6. Use a bottom of a 1/3 cup measuring cup, press down in the center of each cinnamon roll, to form and shape the dough to create a cavity for the apple filling.. Spoon the apple filling evenly among the 6 cinnamon roll cavity.
Step 7
7. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly among the filled cinnamon rolls. Bake for 20-23 minutes until golden.
Step 8
8. Remove from oven, transfer to a wire rack to cool. Lastly drizzle the cream cheese icing on top (if the icing is too thick to drizzle, you can add a little bit of heavy cream to thin it out a bit) and enjoy!
