Instructions
Step 1
Whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla and anise in a medium bowl.
Step 2
Add flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well until there are no lumps and it looks smooth.
Step 3
Add melted butter and mix until smooth.
Step 4
Once the pizzelle maker is hot, place a heaping tablespoon of dough in the middle of each pattern in the iron (more if there is just one large pattern). Close and cook for 30-45 seconds until it turns a light golden color. You can open and re-close the pizzelle maker to cook further. On some pizzelle makers, the light turns off when cooking and turns back on when done.
Step 5
Place the cooked pizzelles on a wire rack. They will be soft coming off the iron, but will become crispy as they cool.
Step 6
Once cool, the pizzelle edges can be cleaned up before storing.
