Air Fryer Baked Potato
5 steps
Prep:5minCook:45min
Air fryer baked potatoes cook in roughly half the time of oven baked potatoes. Making a baked potato in an air fryer is quick, easy, and yields a crispy skin with a fluffy interior. Starchy potatoes like Russet are best for baking because the high starch content means they cook in their own moisture and become soft and fluffy inside. King Edward or Desiree potatoes also have a lot of starch so bake well. Baked potatoes make the perfect week night side dish for a steak or chicken. Or serve them on their own for a filling lunch, loaded with your favourite toppings.

Instructions
Step 1
start by scrubbing the potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel. Then prick the potatoes several times with a fork to help the steam escape during cooking.
Step 2
Next rub the potatoes with olive oil or melted butter. This will help the skin crisp up and add more flavour. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt and pepper or any other seasonings that you prefer.
Step 3
Then preheat your air fryer to 200°C for about 5 minutes. Next, place the seasoned potatoes in your air fryer basket. Making sure that they are not overlapping to allow air circulation around each potato. Cook for about 35 to 40 minutes, flipping the potatoes halfway through the cooking time to ensure they are crispy all over.
Step 4
So after about 35 minutes, check if your potatoes are cooked by inserting a fork or knife into the centre of a potato. If it slides in easily, then you know the potatoes are done. If not, then continue cooking the potatoes for an another 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 5
Once the potatoes are fully cooked through, then remove them from the air fryer basket. Cut a slit down the centre of each one and gently squeeze the ends to fluff up the inside. Then sprinkle over your favourite toppings, and enjoy!
