Instructions

Step 1
Grate your cheese and measure seasonings

Melt butter over medium heat and add flour
Step 3
Whisk constantly for one or two minutes and then add in the milk, whisking vigorously

Raise heat to medium-high and whisk often until base is thickened and condensed
Step 5
Add in your shredded cheese and seasonings, stirring until melted and well combined
Step 6
Taste and add additional salt, if necessary
Step 7
Makes enough sauce for about 1 lb of pasta
