This is a flavorful tomato base or dipping sauce that can be used on pizza or as a dip. You could make 16 pizzas with sauce or just 8 and have dipping for crust or anything else.

Step 1
Melt butter in pot on medium low heat
Step 2
Dice onions
Step 3
Add onions to melted butter
Step 4
Sauté onions until soft then add dried oregano

Continue to saute onions until golden color

Add balsamic vinegar and stir
Step 7
Turn off heat
Step 8
Dice tomatoes and smash with fork
Step 9
Add tomatoes to pot and turn heat back on to medium
Step 10
Stir occasionally until steaming
Step 11
Add salt, sugar, garlic, and oil and stir for a couple minutes
Step 12
Taste to see if any additional salt or sugar needed
Step 13
Turn off heat
