Bolognese sauce

If you want to make a traditional bolognese sauce to combine with spaghetti or because you want to prepare some lasagne for your guest, here is how to make it.

Instructions

Step 1
As fist thing, you can start the recipe with preparing the vegetables. Chop onions, carrots and celery. You can make as big as you like them. Since the bolognese sauce is going on your stove for at least one hour, if the vegetables are small, the will melt. If, on the other hand, you like to taste the vegetables, leave them a little bigger.

Step 2
Take a pot, and poor the olive oil, heat it up and when is warm ease down onions, carrots and celery. Stir the vegetables until they become translucent.

When the vegetables are translucent, ease down the ground beef and stir. Let now the water loose most of the liquids. It should take around 10 minutes.

Next step is to poor the red (or white) wine and let the alcohol evaporates. Stir and mix all the ingredients with the wine.

Now that the alcohol is evaporated, slow down the heat and poor the tomato paste into the pot. You can replace the tomato paste with tomato sauce but make sure it does not have any additional taste in it. Add of course a bit of salt and pepper and if the sauce is too dry, add a couple of spoon of hot water too. Stir the sauce and cover the pot before to leave it on the stove at low it for at least one hour. Check your bolognese sauce every now and then, stir it and when is almost ready taste it to check whether the salt and pepper is fine.
