Instructions
Step 1
Bring the crusts to room temperature.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Step 3
Peel & slice the apples.
Step 4
Put the bottom crust in the pan (ungreased glass pie pan is preferable).
Step 5
Mix apples and filling ingredients in a large bowl.
Step 6
Fill the pan with apple mixture.
Step 7
Cover with the top pie crust, cutting slits or shapes to allow steam to escape.
Step 8
Mix ingredients for egg wash and apply over the top crust.
Step 9
Bake on middle oven rack for 15 minutes.
Step 10
Cover crust edge with foil, bake an additional 30 minutes.
Step 11
Cool on a rack for 2 hours, then enjoy.
