85gunsalted butter
melted and slightly cooled, or very soft
100gbrown sugar
50gwhite sugar
1egg
room temperature
1 tspvanilla extract

Instructions
Mix the wet ingredients
Step 1
● Melt the butter and let it cool 3–5 minutes. (If you don't want your cookie very thin, it is better to use soft butter, skip the melting).
● Whisk in brown sugar + white sugar.
● Add the egg and vanilla, whisk until smooth and glossy.
Add the dry ingredients
Step 2
● Add flour, baking soda, and salt.
● Mix gently until JUST combined — don’t overmix.
●Fold in chocolate chips.
Chill
Step 3
Cover and refrigerate 30–45 minutes.
This gives thicker, chewier cookies.
Shape
Step 4
Scoop into 12–14 balls.
Place on a tray lined with baking paper.
Add extra chocolate chips on top (for looks).
Bake
Step 5
Temperature: 180°C
Time: 8–12 minutes
Bake until the edges are golden and the center looks slightly soft.
They will firm up as they cool.
Cool
Step 6
Let sit on the tray 10 minutes → then transfer to a rack.
