Instructions

Step 1
Wash, de-stem and slice the mushrooms. Cut the meat into small, thin slices. Peel and thinly slice the garlic cloves.
Step 2
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Add the mushrooms to the hot oil and cook until browned (if they release any liquid, reduce it in the pan until it has completely evaporated). Set them aside on a plate.
Step 3
Wipe out the frying pan and heat the remaing oil over high heat. Add the pieces of beef and garlic to the hot oil and cook for 2 minutes, or until browned. Add the thyme and bay leaves. Add the vinegar and boil, stirring, for 30 seconds to deglaze the pan. Add the mushrooms, stir through and transfer the contents of the pan to a serving plate.
Step 4
Suggestion Serve immediately with potato purée.
