Ingredients

125gbutter
125gdark chocolate
chopped
1 ½ cBrown Sugar
lightly packed
1 cplain flour
2eggs
lightly beaten
¼ cLicorice
finely chopped, soft
LICORICE CREAM TOPPING:
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven. Grease and line a 23cm square shallow tin with non-stick baking paper, overhanging two opposite sides.
Step 2
Put the butter and chocolate in a large pan and stir over gentle heat until the chocolate has melted. Add the sugar and stir until almost dissolved. Allow to cool slightly.
Step 3
Sift the flour and a little salt into a bowl. Stir the egg and licorice into the chocolate mixture, then fold into the flour. Pour into the tin and bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely in the tin.
TO MAKE THE LICORICE CREAM TOPPING:
Step 4
Put the chocolate and cream in a pan and stir over low heat until smooth and melted Remove from the heat and cool slightly, then spread evenly over the slice. Arrange the liquorice strips over the top, pressing them lightly into the cream topping.
Step 5
Refrigerate until the chocolate is firm, then cut into diamonds to serve.
