Instructions

Step 1
Place butter and milk in a saucepan large enough to mix all the ingredients. Health until butter melts. Cool to room temperature. Add eggs, caster sugar, sifted flour and baking powder to the saucepan and beat with a hand-held mixer on low speed until combined. Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes or until smooth. Pour mixture into a baking paper-lined 20cm square cake tin. Pop in the oven and bake until the cake springs back when lightly touched. Leave in the tin for 5 minutes before turning on to a cooling rack. Dust with sifted icing sugar.
