Instructions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, milk powder and salt.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk and butter. Microwave for 30–45 seconds, until warm to the touch but not hot. The butter does not need to fully melt.
Step 3
Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients. Add the egg and egg yolk and vanilla, then mix with a wooden spoon.
Step 4
Gradually add 2 more cups of flour and mix. The dough should look thick and sticky.
Step 5
Add another 1/2 cup flour if needed. Knead the dough with your hands until it becomes smooth, soft, and just a little tacky.
Step 6
Press a clean finger into the dough. If it sticks too much, add 1/4 cup more flour and knead again. If it feels soft but not super sticky, shape it into a ball.
Step 7
Let the dough rest uncovered for 2 hours.
Step 8
While the dough rests, make the filling. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, cornstarch, 1/4 salt, and pumpkin purée until it forms a spreadable paste.
Step 9
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a rough rectangle, then roll it out into 1/4 inch tall dough rectangle.
Step 10
Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
Step 11
Cut the dough into long strips, then roll each strip into a cinnamon roll.
Step 12
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish.
Step 13
Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. Then take 1/3 cup of warm heavy cream over the rolls after risen before baking
Step 14
Preheat oven to 350°F. If the rolls were rising in the oven, take them out before preheating.
Step 15
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until light golden brown and cooked through. Use a toothpick or knife to check the center rolls so they are not raw. ( Internal temperature is approximately 190°F)
Step 16
While the rolls cool slightly, make the frosting. Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, honey lemon juice, pinch of salt, milk powder and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
Step 17
Spread the frosting generously over the warm cinnamon rolls.
Step 18
Serve warm and enjoy.
