Instructions

Step 1
Preparation: Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Step 2
Season the chicken breast slices on both sides with salt and pepper, then drizzle with a little olive oil. Place them close together in a medium-sized, greased baking dish.
Step 3
Cover each chicken breast slice with the sliced ham, then top with the thinly sliced fresh pineapple.
Step 4
Melt the butter in a small skillet. Add the crushed/grated garlic and sauté for a few seconds, just until it begins to release its aroma (do not let it brown!).
Step 5
Sprinkle the flour over the garlic butter, stir quickly, then, while stirring constantly (preferably with a hand whisk), pour in the cream to ensure there are no lumps.
Step 6
Season the sauce with salt, pepper, plenty of oregano, and mustard. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until you have a thick, creamy sauce.
Step 7
Pour this thick garlic-cream sauce evenly over the top of the pineapple-ham chicken, then sprinkle the whole thing generously with the grated cheese.
Step 8
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the pineapple is tender.
Step 9
Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese on top turns a beautiful golden brown and becomes crispy.
