Instructions
Step 1
In a large deep sauté pan over medium-high heat, crumble up and brown breakfast sausage with red pepper flakes and brown sugar until cooked thoroughly and to desired caramelization. Do NOT drain grease.
Step 2
Add butter to sausage and once melted, stir in flour and cook for 1 minute over medium heat.
Step 3
Whisk in milk slowly, being sure to get all flour clumps out.
Step 4
Add salt and simmer on medium-low until thickened, stirring frequently to prevent milk from burning.
Step 5
Serve with your favorite biscuits.
