A beginner-friendly rye bread that makes one loaf, flavored with caraway and finished with a milk glaze and extra seeds. Knead, rise twice, shape, then bake until golden.

Instructions
Step 1
Mix water, yeast and sugar in bowl. Set aside for 5 min. until bubbles form.
Step 2
Add caraway seeds, oil, salt, and buttermilk.
Step 3
Stir in the rye flour and 1 cup of the all-purpose flour. Beat well. Slowly add enough flour to make a soft dough. Beat well. Cover and let rest 30 min.
Step 4
Turn out onto lightly floured board. Knead 10 min. or until dough is smooth and satiny. Place into greased bowl. Turn over to grease top. Cover. Let rise in warm place (85°F) until doubled, about 1 hr.
Step 5
Shape into long sausage-shaped loaf. Place on greased baking sheet. Let rise until doubled. Slash top of loaf with knife. Brush with milk and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
Step 6
Bake at 375°F for 25 to 30 min. or until golden.
