Instructions

Preparation

Step 1
Soak the ham in water for at least twelve hours.

Ham

Step 2
Rinse the ham, place it in a large pot, and cover with cold water.
Step 3
Add the ground cloves, onion, peppercorns and brown sugar to the pot.
Step 4
Bring slowly to the boil, skim any foam that comes to the top, and then simmer for 15 minutes per pound plus 15 additional minutes.
Step 5
Remove the ham from the water, peel off the skin, and score the ham.

Glaze

Step 6
Add the glaze ingredients to a sauce pan, saving cloves & mustard for last, and melt. Heat until the jelly is liquid and don't allow it to stick to the pan.

Final Steps

Step 7
Place the scored ham in a roasting pan.
Step 8
Put half of the glaze on the ham and place the pineapple rings and cherries on top of the glazed ham.
Step 9
Place the ham in the oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes uncovered.
Step 10
Add the rest of the glaze over the ham and bake another 15 minutes or so.
Step 11
Pull the ham out of the oven to sit and cool enough to carve.
