A simple, kid-friendly Philly cheesesteak sub uses thinly sliced beef, mild provolone cheese, and skipped or separated onions and peppers to please picky eaters.

Instructions

Step 1
Toast the bread: Open the hoagie rolls and toast them lightly in a pan or oven at 400°F for a few minutes.
Step 2
Cook the beef: Heat your skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil or butter. Add the beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and slightly crispy.
Step 3
Handle the veggies (Picky eater tip): If using onions or peppers, sauté them in a separate small pan so you can leave them off the picky eaters' sandwiches completely or add them easily to the ones that want them.
Step 4
Add the cheese: Turn off the heat. Divide the meat into two piles in the pan. Lay 2 slices of provolone cheese right on top of each pile of meat and let it melt for 1 minute.
Step 5
Assemble: Scoop the cheesy meat right into your toasted hoagie rolls and serve warm.
