Instructions

To make cookies:

Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream butter, sugar, and egg yolks 1 minute. Add flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix 1 minute. Add orange juice and honey. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.

Step 3
Use a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop to portion dough out into balls, then use your hands to shape balls into ovals. Place ovals on prepared baking sheet and bake 15-20 minutes until bottoms are slightly browned.

To make topping:

Step 4
Combine water, honey, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. When Cookies are done, generously brush with Topping and sprinkle with sesame seeds while still hot. Serve immediately.
