French onion pork chops

Instructions

Step 1
Melt butter on med-high heat. Add sliced onions, shallots, garlic, salt & pepper, and sauté 3-5 minutes, until soft. Add beef stock and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes, until onions are extremely tender and golden brown. Add balsamic glaze.
Step 2
As onions are sautéing, season both side of Pork chops with your seasoning of choice. Add olive oil to your cast iron skillet over MED heat. Place pork chops once oil is warmed, cook about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Transfer pork chops to a plate.
Step 3
Pour French onion soup into cast iron pan. Stir. Nestle pork chops back into pan, spooning French onion soup over top of chops. Top with cheese. Place in 400 degree oven and bake 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
