This recipe makes one top and one bottom crust

Instructions

Step 1
Make sure all ingredients are almost frozen.
Step 2
Whisk flour and salt
Step 3
Cut in fat to dry ingredients with a pastry cutter. Should be uniform sandy/gravely texture
Step 4
Add liquid a little at a time until dough forms. Use a fork.
Step 5
Split dough in half and refrigerate.
Step 6
Roll out in circles while cold
Step 7
Place one crust in bottom and add filling. Set second crust on top
Step 8
Use egg wash to glue the edges of the crusts together and crimp
Step 9
Coat top with egg wash and sprinkle sugar liberally over the top after cutting in decorations
Step 10
Bake for 20 mins at 400, them another 25 to 40 mins at 350 until crust is firm and crumbly. Cover edges if they over brown.
