Before eggnog, there was posset. In Scotland, it's a hot milk and whiskey drink — Scottish Posset and Scáiltín. Oats add silky viscosity to the drink.

Step 1
Add the oatmeal, honey, and salt to the milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil on low heat. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Blend on high speed for 1 minute to form thick foam. Mix in Scotch. Adjust the taste. Serve hot sprinkled with spices.
