Sift dry ingredients

Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs

Combine egg and milk in separate bowl

Add flour mixture all at once

Stir until dough follows fork around the bowl. Turn out and knead gently with heel of hand, about 20 strokes.

Roll and cut.

Bake at 450 for 10-14 minutes
