Instructions

Béchamel Sauce

Step 1
Melt the butter in the pot over medium heat.
Step 2
When the butter is melted add the flour and stir well with a whisk

Now add the milk sip by sip and always stir well. There should be no lumps.

Season the sauce with salt and pepper and let it thicken for 5 min.

Meat filling

Step 5
Dice the onion, chop the garlic and basil and slice the carrot.

Heat the oil in the pan. Leave the heat on medium high. Add then onion and fry for 1 minute.

Then add the garlic and fry one more minute before adding the carrots. Fry the vegetables for another minute.

Add the ground beef and stir well so there are no big pieces.

Add the seasonings and tomato paste.

Finally pure in the canned tomatoes and let it simmer for about 5 minute

Sandwich

Step 11
Place half of the meat filling on the first toast slice. Top it with 1/3 of the béchamel sauce and cheese. Place the second toast slice on top.

Repeat the step one more time.
Step 13
Finally add the last third of the béchamel sauce and cheese.
Step 14
Bake the sandwich in the oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.
