2 cupsgranulated sugar

1 tspsalt

½ cupbutter

½ cupshortening

4 Tbspcocoa

1 cupwater

½ cupbuttermilk

2eggs
slightly beaten

1 tspbaking soda

¼ tspcinnamon

1 Tbspvanilla extract

Instructions
Part 1
Step 1
Sift flour sugar and salt into a large bowl

In a saucepan melt the butter, shortening, cocoa and water

Bring to a rapid boil and pour over dry ingredients from part 1

Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla

Mix everything together

Pour into a greased, flat shallow baking pan approx 14x18 in.

Bake at 350f (165C fan) for 20-30 mins
Part 4 - Icing

Wait until the cake is nearly baked

Melt butter in a pan, add cocoa and milk

Bring to boil then remove from heat

Add powdered sugar, pecans and coconut

Mix with electric whisk

AS SOON AS THE CAKE COMES OUT OF THE OVEN, spread the icing over the top.
