Instructions

Step 1
Whisk egg yolks & granulated sugar til light and creamy
Step 2
Heat the heavy cream, milk, nutmeg, and salt in a saucepan over medium-high til a bare simmer
Step 3
Add the milk mixture 1 spoonful at a time to the egg mixture while whisking
Step 4
Return combined mixture to saucepan
Step 5
Whisk constantly for a few minutes until mixture is slightly thickened
Step 6
Combine mixture with vanilla and move to a serving container
Step 7
Serve hot or cold, and optionally sprinkle with some cinnamon
