Instructions
Step 1
1. Melt sugar in a small saucepan on low heat, be patient and don’t stir (you can swirl the saucepan around in circles gently to move the sugar around)

2. Once sugar is melted and golden in colour add butter and whisk to combine. Be careful because the sugar will be really hot at this point
Step 3
3. Lastly add in your heavy/thickened cream and whisk again to combine.
Step 4
4. If you want salted caramel, add in 1tsp of salt now and whisk through

5. Pour out hot caramel sauce into a jar and cool down completely in the fridge before putting the lid on
