Buttery skillet fried apples are a classic Southern treat. Fresh apples softened in butter & mixed with cinnamon sugar. So delicious & ready in just 15 min.!

Instructions

Step 1
Core & slice apples; place into med.-sized bowl. Immediately, pour lemon juice over apple slices (to prevent browning.)
Step 2
Melt butter in 10” skillet over med.
Step 3
Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, & nutmeg. Cook, stirring (30 sec.)
Step 4
Add sliced apples; stir to coat.
Step 5
Cook (12-15 min.); stir until apples have softened. (The exact timing depends on size of your apple slices.)
Step 6
Remove from heat & serve warm.
Step 7
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve over oatmeal, in baked oatmeal, or use in overnight oats. As a topping for pancakes, french toast, or waffles. Mixed in with yogurt. Over ice cream.
