2eggs

1 teaspoonvanilla extract
or essence

1 tablespoonvinegar

¼ cupoil
any

½ cupmilk

1 cupwhite sugar

1 cupall purpose flour
or plain

⅓ cupcocoa powder

½ teaspoonsalt

1 teaspoonbaking soda

1 teaspoonbaking powder

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°c

Step 2
In a large bowl, combine all wet ingredients and sugar and mix until incorporated. Sift in dry ingredients and whisk until combined and smooth.














Step 3
Spray a deep cake tin (around 20x6cm) with oil spray and line with baking paper (you can alternatively spray the sides with oil or spread butter and sprinkle the edges with flour to prevent the cake from sticking to the sides). Pour the cake batter in, and drop the tray lightly on the table a few times to eliminate any air bubbles.



Step 4
Bake for 30 minutes (adjust times depending on your oven) and rotate the tray when 15 minutes pass. To ensure the cake is fully cooked, insert a skewer in the center. If the skewer comes out clean or a little crumby, it's finished.


Step 5
Take it out of the oven, flip the tin over and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
Chocolate Icing (optional)
Step 6
Add all ingredients except butter to a small saucepan and constantly mix until the mixture thickens and becomes thick.









Step 7
Add the butter for a glossy look (optional).

Step 8
Add toppings of your choice.
