Asian salad - Rojak
2 steps
Prep:20min
Rojak or rujak is a fruit and vegetables salad popular in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Typically made with cubed pineapple, cucumber, jicama and Chinese donut, it is both sweet and spicy at the same time.
The “dressing” is made of shrimp paste and is a strong tasting ingredient on its own but when mixed with fruit and vegetables, it enhances the sweetness better and is so delicious.
I wasn’t able to find jicama and so I used Chinese pear instead. Some recipes use green papaya as well but I substituted with green apple.
