These Cheese Heart Danishes are a must-make this Valentine's Day. They come together in just about 30 minutes and are filled with a sweet cream cheese filling and topped with fresh strawberries. They are crispy, flakey, and perfectly golden brown!

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
Step 2
Next, make the cream cheese filling by adding in the softened cream cheese, egg yolk, sugar and vanilla extract into an electric mixer. Mix on medium to high speed for 45-60 seconds or until ingredients are well incorporated. Set aside.
Step 3
Next, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets and cut out hearts with a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
Step 4
Then, using a knife, score around the edges of the heart, see photos above.
Step 5
Place the hearts on the prepared baking sheet and, inside the scored edge, fill each heart with the cream cheese filling and then top with diced strawberries.
Step 6
Brush the edges with the egg wash and place in the oven to bake for 23-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 7
Dust with powdered sugar if desired and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
