This recipe brings me back to 2000 when I visited family in the Philippines. This was something the street vendors sold almost every corner. Not sure if it’s exact but it sure tastes like it.

Make a 2nd batch w/o soda for basting
Instructions
Step 1
Slice pork into cubes
Knife
pork shoulder4 lbs
Step 2
Add all ingredients. Mix well and cover. Marinate at least 3hrs. Preferably overnight for best results
lemon lime soda
soy sauce¾ cup
lemon juice½ cup
banana ketchup¾ cup
brown sugar4 Tbsp
garlic powder2 Tbsp
ground black pepper1 tsp
salt2 tsp
lemon lime soda1 ½ cup
Step 3
Add pork to skewers
Step 4
Cook over charcoal. 3-5 mins per side. You want a nice char on all side.
Step 5
Baste with a fresh 2nd batch of marinade without the soda
Step 6
Baste each side after every flip. Flipping multiple times.
