Step 1
Finely chop the onion, carrot, and celery

Heat the oil in a large steel frying pan, on high heat and then add the onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for 5 minutes.

Add the beef and pork to the pan, separate using a fork, and brown for 10 minutes
Step 4
Pour in the wine and reduce, on high heat, until evaporated.
Step 5
Add tomato paste, hot water, and salt, and stir well to ensure the sauce is combined.
Step 6
Reduce to low-medium heat, and leave to simmer for 3 hours, and serve. (If sauce becomes dry while simmering, add a little water).
