Instructions

Step 1
Heat milk in sauce pan over medium-high heat until bubbles form around edge.

Remove milk from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup sugar, butter, salt. Cool to warm (~115F)

Combine warm water, rest of sugar, yeast in a medium bowl and let stand until mixture foams (~5 minutes).

Add milk mixture and eggs to yeast mixture. Stir to combine. Add 4.5 cups flour and xantham gum. Mix well and form dough into ball. Add flour as needed to make dough soft, smooth, and slightly tacky

Roll dough between two large sheets of plastic wrap to form tree large enough to fill large cookie sheet.

Coat dough with butter, cinnamon, and sugar

Cut dough from 1" from center to outside, every 1.5" inches. Twist to create branches.

Grease pan tree will cook on. Place tree on pan and cover with saran wrap. Set in warm location and let rise for 30 minutes

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes until brown. Let cool 15 minutes.
Step 10
While tree cools, mix confectioners' sugar and milk together. Once cooldown is complete, drizzle tree with glaze. Add candied fruit as ornaments. Serve warm.
