Instructions
Step 1
Line a 9x4x4” bread loaf pan with aluminum foil.
Step 2
In a medium sauce pan add all the ingredients except the red food coloring.

star anise extract¼ teaspoon
cinnamon¼ teaspoon
nutmeg¼ teaspoon
Step 3
Cook on medium-low heat (4) until butter is melted and everything is combined, stirring constantly.
Step 4
Raise heat to medium heat (6) and cook while stirring for 20 to 25 minutes or until the consistency of carmel. Do not let ingredients burn or stick to the sides/bottom of the pan.
Step 5
Remove from heat and continue stirring for 10-15 minutes.
Step 6
Pour half of the mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Add red food coloring to the remaining half and mix. Pour evenly over the first layer in the loaf pan and spread evenly.

Refrigerate for 2 hours to allow to set. Turn out the fudge and carefully peel away the tin foil. Cut into 1 inch squares z
