Instructions

Step 1
Add sugar, yeast, salt, shortening and water to mixer bowl and stir. Let rest for 5 minutes
Step 2
Add one cup of flour at a time fully incorporating until all 6 cups of flour is added.
Step 3
Knead for 10 minutes
Step 4
Place dough in greased bowl, cover and rise until it doubles (approx 30 minutes)
Step 5
Punch down. Turn out onto floured surface. Cut dough in half stretch or roll out into rectangle. Roll up and place into greased loaf pans. Preheat oven to 425. Cover and rise until loafs are as big as you want (for me it was when oven was ready). Bake for 18 minutes
Step 6
Brush tops with butter and cool on wire rack
