Cream sugar and shortening

Sift together flour, soda and salt

Add beaten eggs, mashed bananas, nuts, and buttermilk to cream sugar and shortening.

Preheat oven to 325. Bake in a grease 8 x 16 pan for 40 - 45 minutes OR in a loaf pan. Loaf pan might need to bake longer 60 - 70 minutes. Test with a toothpick.
