Classic One-Bowl Pound Cake

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325. Grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans with butter, set aside.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer on high until pale and fluffy, about 8 minutes.
Step 3
Scrape down sides of bowl, reduce speed, then add extracts, if using.
Step 4
Add eggs two at a time, beating in between additions.
Step 5
Reduce speed to low, then gradually add flour, mixing until just incorporated.
Step 6
Pour batter evenly between the two pans and smooth tops with a rubber spatula.
Step 7
Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 65 minutes. Let cool in pans for 30 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
