Step 1
Brown butter by melting it in a sauce pan over medium heat until it bubbles and cracks. Let it got for another couple minutes until you see tiny brown bits on the bottom of the pan. Immediately remove from heat and pour into a heat safe bowl. Let cool for about fifteen minutes.
Step 2
Combine butter and cocoa powder with an electric mixer or whisk.
Step 3
Add sugars and mix until combined.
Step 4
Add eggs and vanilla and mix until incorporated.
Step 5
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda and then add to wet ingredients. Mix until combined.
Step 6
Mix in chocolate chips.
Step 7
Form into balls. Stick a few more chocolate chips on top of each one. The recipe should make 2 dozen cookies. Place balls of dough onto a cookie sheet and let sit in fridge for at least two hours.
Step 8
Bake at 350 degrees for ten minutes.
Step 9
Take out of the oven and add flakey salt on top. Let cool before eating.
