2 sticksmargarine
½ teaspoonbaking powder
½ cupshortening
1 cupmilk
3 cupssugar
5eggs
beaten
1 teaspoonrum flavoring
1 teaspoonbutter flavoring
1 teaspooncoconut flavoring
1 teaspoonlemon flavoring
1 teaspoonalmond flavoring
3 cupsall purpose flour
For the Topping
Instructions
Step 1
Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Step 2
Add eggs that have been beaten until lemon color.
Step 3
Combine flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture with milk.
Step 4
Stir in flavorings.
Step 5
Pour into tube pan.
Step 6
Bake 325 degrees for 1 ½ hours.
Topping
Step 7
Let cake rest but not completely cool. Turn out of pan. Make holes all over the cake both shallow and deep. More holes depending on the size. Many for toothpick, less for knife, few for wooden spoon handle.
Step 8
Slowly pour topping over entire cake one spoon at a time. Cover and refrigerate. It’s better the next day!
