Instructions
Step 1
Cut the lamb into 1 inch cubes. Halve and thinly slice the onions.
Step 2
In wide shallow casserole heat up 1tbsp olive oil, then add onions and lamb cubes and cook until evenly brown.
Step 3
Add salt, pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, nutmeg and water. Bring it to the boil, cover with lid and cook over low heat around 1 hour.
Step 4
Wash green beans and trim off stems. Cut into 1 inch pieces. In another pan heat up 2tbsp olive oil and sauté green beans.
Step 5
After 1 hour add green beans to the meat, together with chopped tomatoes and sugar. Mix well, cover and cook for another 45 minutes over a low heat.
Step 6
Taste to correct seasoning.
Step 7
Serve hot with rice or mashed potatoes.
