We doubled the batter, added a bit of apple butter to the batter, used French bread, and instead of frying it in a pan, we baked it at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

This was excellent! I have made this twice as written with two exceptions- I sliced my rolls in half and forgot the brown sugar each time! Perfect breakfast for a fall weekend.
