Ingredients

1.5 sticksbutter
2 cupsbrown sugar
1 teaspoonsvanilla
2eggs
½ cupbuttermilk
2 cupsflour
½ teaspoonssalt
1 teaspoonbaking soda
6 tablespoonscocoa
½ cupcoffee
Frosting
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease, flour, and parchment paper bottom of 2 cake pans

Cream butter and sugar
Step 3
Add vanilla
Step 4
Add eggs, one at a time
Step 5
Add buttermilk, blend well
Step 6
Sift flour, salt, baking soda, and cocoa together. Add alternating with coffee until fully combined.
Step 7
Bake 30-40 min until toothpick comes out clean.
Step 8
Cool in pan 10 minutes. Cool completely on baking rack.
Frosting
Step 9
Cream butter
Step 10
Sift together sugar, cocoa, salt
Step 11
Combine coffee and vanilla.
Step 12
Add dry ingredients alternating with the coffee, blend until smooth. Add more coffee one Tbsp at a time for desired consistency.
