This recipe won't win any awards for its appearance, but it's filling and tastes much better than it looks. It is a tweak of a recipe my parents used to make whenever we went camping. It's about the easiest meal you can make. Just boil some water, dump in the instant potatoes, stir, dump in the canned goods, stir again, and serve. You can substitute a different canned meat, canned veggies, or flavor of potatoes. It's not really a "hash" (unless you add the optional tater tots or hashbrowns), but that's what my parents called it.

Ingredients
4 servings

2 cupswater
boiling

4 ozinstant mashed potatoes
Idahoan Butter & Herb flavor
12 ozRoast Beef canned
fully cooked with gravy

15 ozGreen Beans canned
French-style, drained

15 ozcan Whole Kernel Corn
drained, optional
Instructions
Step 1

Gather the ingredients.
Step 2

Add the entire pouch of instant mashed potatoes to 2 cups of boiling water in a 4 qt saute pan or pot. Stir thoroughly to combine. If it's cold outside, reduce the heat to low as you add the remaining ingredients; otherwise, you can turn off the heat after boiling the water.




Step 3

Add the canned goods, stirring after each addition, and serve immediately.

OPTIONAL: If you want this to be more of a "hash", you can add 1 cup frozen tater tots or crumbled hash browns, thawed to the mixture.
