Ingredients
4 servings
1 poundbeef steak
flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tablespoonssoy sauce
2 tablespoonsoyster sauce
1 tablespooncornstarch
2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
3cloves garlic
minced
1 teaspoongrated ginger
1onion
sliced
2bell peppers
any color, sliced
2 cupsmixed vegetables
such as broccoli florets, snap peas, carrots
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
Red pepper flakes
or chili sauce for added heat
1 cuplong-grain white rice
2 cupswater
½ teaspoonsalt
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the steamed rice first:

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Step 3
In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, water, and salt.
Step 4
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
Step 5
Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving
Step 6
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add the sliced beef to the bowl and marinate for about 10-15 minutes.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
Step 9
In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 11
Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, and mixed vegetables to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss everything together. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat the beef through.
Step 13
Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes or chili sauce for added heat, if desired.
Step 14
Divide the beef stir-fry and steamed rice among plates or bowls.
