Instructions

Step 1
Sauté the onion and garlic with oil or vegetable broth until soft. Once done, set aside.
Step 2
Using a food processor, combine the walnuts, mushrooms and white beans. Add in the onion and garlic, combined together.
Step 3
Add in remaining ingredients and pulse to blend.
Step 4
Form into patties. This recipe typically makes about 4 patties.
Step 5
Bake in oven for 10 mins, turn the pan and bake for another 10 minutes.
Step 6
To finish off the patties, broil on high for 3 to 5 minutes. Make sure you check periodically.

Vegan Gravy

Step 7
Start by sautéing the onions in either oil or vegetable broth. Once they are softened and start to caramelize, add in the garlic and cook until soft. Once soft, put in the spices and cook for 30 second, and then incorporate the flour. Cook while stirring until flour Browns. Finally pour in the two cups of vegetable broth, stirring continuously so lumps do not form. Let simmer until the gravy thickens. If gravy is too thick, add in some more vegetable broth until you reach your desired consistency.
Step 8
Top Mushroom Burger with gravy and serve with a vegan mac salad and/or brown rice.
