For syrup
Step 1
Combine the first six ingredients (through salt) in a small saucepan. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
Step 2
Simmer, uncovered, about 1 hour or until reduced to 2 cups. Cool. Transfer to a glass container; cover.
Step 3
Refrigerate up to 1 month. For each serving, mix 2 tbsp. (1 oz.) syrup with 3/4 cup (6 oz.) prosecco, ginger beer, or seltzer in a glass.
Step 4
If desired, skewer fresh cranberries on decorative picks for garnish.
