Instructions

Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, place yeast, sugar, and water cool to lukewarm.
Step 2
Add beaten eggs, then the mixture (yeast) which has become puffy. Mix well. Add water, sugar, salt, and vegetable shortning. Mix well, then add flour a cup at a time, at first, then as dough stiffens, add only 1/2 cup at a time until a soft dough is made.
Step 3
Turn onto a well-floured board and knead until smooth, about 8 minutes.
Step 4
Wash and grease bowl and place dough into greased bowl, turning to grease all sides.
Step 5
Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
