Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Cut butter in chunks and cut into flour mixture with pastry cutter. Keep mixture cold.

In a small bowl, beat egg and milk

Add milk mixture to flour mixture. Use fork to hydrate flour. Do not overwork dough. Add ice water slowly. Use flour-dusted hands to knead slightly at the end.

Turn dough on floured surface. Roll with rolling pin and fold in half. Roll into 2 inch rectangle and cut circles with cups. Grease cast iron skillet and arrange dough so biscuits touch. Refrigerate 20 minutes. Brush with milk. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Step 5
For Susage Gravey, brown sausage, add flour and cook a couple minutes. Stir in milk and let simmer and thicken while stirring. Stir in seasonings.
