Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat to 325°. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown and white sugar, until smooth. Beat in one egg at a time, then stir in vanilla.
Step 2
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Mix in the oats and chocolate chips.
Step 3
Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes.
Step 4
Take out of the oven when the edges are just starting to brown (they will continue to cook outside of the oven!) Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Keep in a sealed container.
