You will need cornflour mixed with a little cold water to thicken gravy. Add water if it becomes too dry but don't have it swimming in sauce as it needs to go in pie.

Step 7
Allow filling to cool. Cover with freezer bags and put in freezer before cooking in oven if need be. Then you just need to take out and put in oven when u need them. Fill pastry dish and cover with pastry.
Step 8
Use water on pastry brush or fingers to seal edges together. Make a couple of holes in top to allow steam to escape from sauce. Brush with milk and if u put shapes o top brush them.

Step 9
Preheated oven 200°C. Usually takes around 40-45mins in oven. Keep checking to see how browned they are.

Step 10
You can make more gravy using same recipe for sauce (without veg and mince). I use the same saucepan that I got the sauce from for the pies. Then people can add gravy to their hearts content. Serve with Mash and greens if u like.
